I run T/D with 456 BAE eng. coupled to 3 speed Jeffco/Pat donovan set up,
Coan bolt together converter . After couple of tuning run hi- 6 sec ,the oil temp on torque link is 260 deg. I use royal purple full systetic trans. oil ,
14 qt of oil in the pan and big moroso cooler tank. before the run i cool down the oil temp at 100 deg on the guage.
Is it normal temp for that , it seems for me it's hot
    Thanks

Coan converters generally produce a lot of heat. I am not real surprised by those numbers. We actually had problems with so much heat that it loosened the glue bonding the friction material to the clutch plates. We ended up switching brands and now we are looking at maybe 165°F after 3 passes without any outside cooling.
