Anyone used the transmission coolers that are used after in the pits. External of the car? Wondering which type is the best? Before I purchase one. Do not really want to have to get ice for it.

We made one like Snyder's deal for our bruno. Only put one pass on the car but seemed to work great. Cooled the trans in about 30-40 min. Had to use ice though...not sure how you can get by without unless you have lots of time between rounds.

Ice is the only solution unless you have a ton of money or a ton of time. I've seen guys use condensers, ac units, etc to avoid the ice. The units were very nice but ran on 220 and cost upwards of $4000-5000.00. The dual fan deals will not get it cool enough in short enough of a timespan. If you're running 1/8th mi. only the fan deal may work but ice is the best bet. Snyder makes a good one, McAmis makes a nice (expensive) one, and you can always just put one together yourself. The Jiffy Tite Fittings are very nice to use, I'd def. recommend those!
