Looking to buy a new trailer and have some questions. I currentley use a 36' Chapparal goosneck but would like to buy a newer 36' that is 8.5' wide. My Chap is only 7.5' at bottom and 7' at the top. I'm not having much luck finding a 36' but have found lots of 38' that I like but I'm worried they might be too much for my truck? When I check into them they are only 200lbs heavier and 60lbs more on hitch weight. My truck handles the Chap well but might be a different story with a 8.5' wide trailer on a windy day?
    Truck:
    2009 Chevrolet 2500 HD,diesel,crew cab,SHORT box,4x4,single rear wheel,10 ply tires

    Mac,

Your truck should have no problem pulling that new trailer.....

My buddy has the same truck and we used it to pull my 48' vintage trailer.
Going down the road and stopping were no problem at all !
The only issue we had was you cant make a severely sharp turn or the front corner of the trailer will hit the back of the cab!

Mac...I have a 36' Exiss GN for sale. I towed it with a short box Dodge non-dually V10 with no problems. I have a 10" coupler extension on it that moves the trailer back enough to eliminate 90% of the turning/interference problems.
It is all aluminum, 2 axle, 14000 GVW. The ad is on this site and race junk.
my e-mail is ss3raceteam@yahoo.com if you have any questions...
    thanks,
    Steve
    oh...and it is 8.5 wide

    I fabricated it. I don't know how to post a picture...but I can e-mail you one!
They do sell them...but right now I can't remember where I saw them. Mine has been set-up like this for 3 years.
