Been looking at this option for a long time. Looking at an American Dream with a Spartan chassis. Trailer weight listed is 5000K on the MH specs. Called Spartan and no help without Ser# from the frame. I dont have that.
Anyone chime in on this? Would like to buy this unit but thought most all the higher end Diesel pushers had 10K towing cap.
I know about the tongue dollies and all that to take off tongue weight... I can brace up the chassis with welded or bolt on bars that is not an issue for me but just trying to get all the input i can. I have been looking for forums on the topic and lots of opinions( imagine that) But none that really address the 5K VS 10K chassis...

    Thanks to anyone with experience.

You have to have a pretty big MH to have a 10k hitch. I have a 45' Monaco with a Detroit S-60 525 hp motor and the Allison 4000 transmission which helps with the 10k hitch. According to Monaco if you modify the hitch in anyway it is no longer certified for that tow weight. Most diesel pushers are only rated for 5k and I believe that is because of the Allison 3000 transmission. There are a lot of racers towing with 5k capacity and that is a gamble one has to take. Like I said I don't believe the limiting factor is the hitch but the tranny
