Torrence's Wing?

    Whoa! Torrence get's to about 60 feet and the rear double element wing parted company with the struts.

    Anyone know what happened?

    Oh, that was the coolest run of the round. I was standing on the line right behind the whole spectacle waiting to fire dad's car. We watched Federlin bring up the R's and sit there, and sit there. Torrence went to the high side, then sat there, and sat there. Get the picture. Federlin shook the bajesus out of it, and I could see whisps of smoke off Torrences tires at the hit. After about 200 feet Torrence had about one cylinder left and Federlin put the pannels out around 1000 feet.

    That's certainly one way to get TV time.
