During a conversation with NHRA Director of Sportsman Racing Len Imbrogno, Tate Branch Top Alcohol Racers Association President, was asked to convey NHRA's position concerning the inclusion of the injected nitro (A-Fuel) combination into Top Alcohol Funny Car.

Tate relates that according to Len Imbrogno, NHRA is not considering, nor will it consider rule changes which allow injected nitro (A-Fuel) into Top Alcohol Funny Car.

good, while i think it would be a lot of fun, it would likely just end up like the dragsters and eventually there would be no alcohol in top alcohol funny car. maybe they should make an injected nitro class and allow funny cars and dragsters nitro pro comp. that would be interesting!

Thanks Shelly, that's quite a relief. The A-fuel funny car deal was starting to sound serious.

Well with the way they start droping sportsman class's from each event to make room to bring the stink of their sport compact series to the big stage, the Question is why would they not have an AF/FC in the class, they seem to be good at scewing things up. Just ask any ex PST guy who put a lot into an engine program!!!
