Any one have any experience with titanium valve springs? Do they last longer or are they prone to failure. Just took delivery of a Brad 8 with 7 passes and these springs are on the intakes. We are not sure if we should keep them or switch them out. Thanks in advance.

The Ti springs have a good spring rate, not to mention lighter weight on the valve. Until about 10 years ago, steel springs could not match the rate. Then they came out with the dual springs which have comparable rate and weight.

Ti springs will usually break the inner first, but towards the end of the era when most still ran them, we started seeing them break outers first, which can lead to catastrophic damage.

On a hard running alcohol car, the life span of a new ti valve spring typically was only 10-15 runs.
