For a week I have been over inflating one Hossier slick in an attempt to increase its roll out to match the other. Although it has gotten much better it looks like the closest I am going to get is within 1/2 " . Is that good enough to run? The smaller one is 114 1/2" and the larger one is 115"

    Tyre roll out

That should be ok, But keep a eye on it. It all so depents on which way your car pulls on the hit.

    tire

I am sure you did, but did you let the tire sit in the warm sun? The tire needs to be nice + warm. Don

every car is a little different, but i can tell you that 1/2" on our car will definitely not let it go straight.

Last season my team struggled with getting the roll-out on my Hoosiers to equalize. They started out perfect and after ten runs one started to grow. We check the rollout every weekend. The first time we saw a difference it was 3/4 of an inch. So we over inflated the other tire, left it in the sun, did everything I could think of. By the time we gave up the weak tire was 1 and a half inches bigger than the other. My conclusion was that the tire was coming apart internally. We changed tires and that fixed it. I have run Hoosiers for years and never had a problem like this before. I wouldn't be afraid to run Hoosiers again but if they start out equal and then change maybe something is wrong? Thanks for the info guys. After my other set of slicks developed a leak between rounds I was forced to use this set. Much to my surprise the car didn't run all that crooked. That said I don't plan on using them again.

It's always a fuss trying to get the rollout close, been my experience that Hoosiers take a little more fuss than GY on the average. I can tell you that one TAFC I worked with last year had a set of Hoosiers that was 10 passes and maybe 1 month old that had one tire grow over 1" bigger than the other. At the U.S. Nats, he took them over to the tent, raised a little hell and got a brand new set out of them.
