good year told me that 80 to 160 gram is normal for 1022
we are around 120 - 140 with new weld beadlocks.
my older rims had one going to 250 gram. took it off. is a table now.

there is a mark on the tire that need to be at the valve.

how do you balance ? bubbel or spin ?

when you launch and the wheel twists in the wheel and the tyre wrinkles up, also when the tyre starts to grow and distort the wheel/tyre balance is almost totally thrown out anyway

When I mounted our slicks last weekend one of them was going to need 16 oz of weight!! We checked it 2 times and each time it read the same.

We took the tire off the spin balancer and broke it down rotated the tire 180* on the wheel. Reseated the beads etc and it balanced out at 8 oz of weight.

My other tire took 6 oz of weight to balance.

Mine are not beadlocks but they are 33 x 17 x 15 Goodyears.

We run a 36 X 17.5 x 16 and just bubble balance without any problems. You need to balance because of the speed the tire turns after the distortion of the launch and we have never used more than about 6 ounces on a single wheel.

    ounces or grams?

i have to believe you are mistaken, 6 grams is not even 1/4 ounce. are you sure you don't mean 6 ozs? we have put 9 or 10 ozs on several times. just depends on the wheel and the particular tire you get. also watch for the tube getting twisted up inside the liner that will throw it off big time.

    balance

proper wheel balance is critical to not shaking the tires. we have found spin balancing to be far more accurate than bubble balancing.

if the car is shaking on the jack stands, it will be shaking on the track....
