Timing covers/crank questions

Hi guys I've got a ta/fc ,brad block combo and was just wondering what your thoughts were on the rcd timing cover with built in crank support .Does it help with bearing and crank life etc .Second question is weather anyone is uses the center counterweights on the crank , is it an advantage for the extra weight .Thank guys
