A Pair of Victories in Houston for Tigerflow Racing Teams

Baytown, Tx -- Hot and humid are key words to describe the South Central Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Race at Houston Raceway Park this past weekend. Tigerflow Racing had several competitors all vying for the victory at the conclusion of this 2 day event. Kebin "Wild Child" Kinsley in Top Alcohol Funny Car and Keith Haney in the Top Sportsman class both became recipients of Wally's. Other teams present during the weekend's events include Brandon Lewis in Top Alcohol Dragster, Todd Odom and Shayne Lawson also in Top Alcohol Dragster. Tommy Phillips competing in Super Comp and Super Gas and the last entry, for his 2009 debut race, Tigerflow's Co Executive, Monroe Guest, competed within the Top Dragster category.

Kinsley started off in eliminations qualified in the #2 position. His team provided a race car that proved it's consistency throughout eliminations posting a 5.86 in round one, a 5.87 in the Semi's, and finishing off the night with another 5.86 to take home his first win of the 2009 racing season.

"We had to change motors after qualifying" noted Kinsley, "we just didn't want to chance hurting the motor that was in it and put our old faithful back in the car. We sure are glad we did. We needed the points since we're getting closer to the end of the season."

This win gives Kinsley the #1 position within the Division 4 points standings and jumps him all the way into 15th within the National Points.

In the alcohol dragster class, Brandon Lewis and his Tigerflow sponsored team started the evening qualified in the #1 position while the Tigerflow Team of Odom and Lawson landed in the #2 position with a 5.406.

The semi finish for the Odom/Lawson Team has them in second place, only 10 points out of first, within the 2009 Division 4 points Championship Title is still very much within their grasp moving closer to the end of the season.

The finale of Top Sportsman ran around 4:00 am, so to say that it was a long day of racing is an understatement. However, after five rounds of solid lights and dialing the car properly, Haney won the final round running a 6.81 at 202.85 mph for his first Wally.

Within the Super Classes, Tommy Phillips uncharacteristically experienced early exits in both Super Comp and Super Gas.

Reigning 2008 Top Dragster Division 4 Champion Monroe Guest was thrilled to be competing in his Brand New 2009 Monden Chassis Dragster. In only his second pass in qualifying, he cut a perfect reaction time and started eliminations in the 11th position running a 6.825 at 198.90 miles per hour. Although he had a round one exit at this race, expect to see him and his team at many races to catch up on those valuable points before the 2009 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series comes to a close in November.
