Thompson Makes Progress in ADRL Pro Extreme

Clint Thompson made a major step forward in his young ADRL career by qualifying for his first ADRL Pro Extreme event in Madison IL. The race was held at Gateway Motorsports Park just outside of St. Louis.

Thompson made four solid runs in qualifying to bump into the tough sixteen car field. Thompson ran a career best 3.77 at 198 MPH in the third stanza to make it into the sixteenth position. Thompson’s 3.77 held through the fourth and final session as 22 cars were jockeying for position.

In round one, Thompson took on number one qualifier Mick Snyder who also has his roots in the Top Alcohol Funny Car class. At the hit, Snyder got out of the gate first and was able to maintain his lead all he way to the finish line with Thompson in hot pursuit. Snyder recorded a 3.64 at 208 MPH to Thompson’s valiant 3.84 at 194 MPH.

Thompson was optimistic about the weekend. "Even though we didn't get beyond the first round we made progress. It was the second quickest Pro Extreme field in history and I bumped in by only one thousandth of a second" Thompson observed. Next, Thompson will race next at the ADRL event in Petersburg, VA on June 22-23.
