With over $10,000 dollars on the line, there was Blood in the Water.........

With temperatures in the mid 50's on Saturday and first Qualifying session just around the corner, everybody was preparing for the calming of the cars to get down the track and be in the show. With record breaking weather and a race track with shark teeth, we all looked like a bunch of wolves that had not eaten in six months. Saturday's Qualifying produced some good numbers for the given situation. Mike "SLY" DiDomenico in his ASE / IRONMAN Chassis Dragster laid claim to the prestigious #1 spot at a 3.850 at 189.36. Not far behind Sly was "The Gator," Tony Bogolo nipping at SLY's heals with a 3.853 at a blistering speed of 192.49 MPH giving Tony top MPH of the event in the only Mustang Funny car on the grounds. What was it with the short wheel base cars?1? Non - PXD member Paul Molnar in his 48 Fiat rounded the 3rd base spot with a 3.902. In the 4th place postion was "The Gambler," Glenn Sheppard in at a wheel standing effort of a 3.906 at 186.54. With the small block that rocks from Stamping Grounds KY, #5 Terry "Killer" Coyle puts up a 3.907 at 184.60. As we go into the #6 spot everybody needs to know that you just don't piss off a New Yorker, Bob "The Slayer" Frigon with a 3.944 at 189.87, was carrying a lot of steam on the back half. Fast Eddie "The Mountain Man" Careccia was a surprise only turning in a 3.958 @ 190.30. Looks like Fast Eddie was taking it easy on the starting line again right before he turned the wick to the old bird. The fastest small block Ford on the grounds was Jeff "The Bullet" Chatterson, shutting down the last spot in The Strongest of the Eight in at a 3.974 at 181.08. PXD's Honorable Mention "Coach Mac" McElwee and "The Trinidad Rocket" Bissessar were bit by the Halloween Gremlins. All in all, great qualifying sessions to all 18 racers that tried to get in the 8 car field. To all the racers that did not qualify, your effort will not go unnoticed. Here's to Dave Jamison, Cody Bayus, Tim Bragg, Jeremy Levon, Troy Waterstraat, John Loshbough and Al Goodman who also made appearances.

Sunday came and cold man winter was not cooperating very well as a bike racer wrecked just before first round of Elimination before Outlaw Dragster was setting to stage. So Norwalk Raceway's Bill Bader Jr. called a drivers meeting and let the drivers vote on whether they thought it was safe to run, ending with a winning vote not to run the race for safety reasons. Norwalk's Bill Bader Jr. and Pro X-Treme Dragster's Aaron Sipple put all the winning's together and split it among the drivers. At the end of the day we all show up to race, but safety was the determining factor this Sunday. So until next time........The Strongest of the Eight ------ will have to wait "another day" !

The Last Pro X-Treme Dragster Endorsed Race of the year under Open Outlaw will be held at The Snowbird Nationals in Bradenton FL. The past race at Norwalk's Halloween Classic presented by Senecal Construction INC. race on Oct. 30th and 31st carried quite a bit of drama that never got settled. Well Pro X-Treme Dragster is throwing it all out on the table ! There is Blood in the water so here is your last chance for 2010 to show up run the race and carry the name "I AM"
