    The WAR Thunder Nationals is slated to be the “Largest Independent Drag Race” in Michigan.

    West Olive, Michigan May 10, 2005 – More then 35 racecars are pre entered in the WAR Thunder Nationals to be held at the U.S.131 Motorsports Park in Martin Michigan. A capacity crowd will be on hand to witness the “Largest fields of Pro Cars ever” for the Thunder Nationals. Stars from NHRA, IHRA and WAR will be doing battle with Alcohol Dragsters, Alcohol Funny Cars and Pro Modifieds in two rounds of open qualifying to get into the 8 car fields. The ESPN 2 cameras will be on hand to film the final rounds to be aired on the television program Inside Drag Racing and Pat Davidson’s Jet Ambulance will make exhibition passes. Evan Knoll will be on hand to add to the Thunder with his 300 mile-per-hour Torco Racing Fuels Top Fuel Dragster. An autograph session is scheduled where fans can get up close and personal while posing for pictures with their favorite drivers. Fans can also stroll through the huge manufacturer’s midway where national and local vendors will have their goods for sale. A fantastic fireworks display will round off the evening of this great family entertainment package.

    Gates open at 11 with pro qualifying at 1 and 4.

    Autograph session at 5 with the first round scheduled for 7.

    Tickets are $20 with children 6-12 $7 and 5 and under free.
