Just wanted to share a view with you guys and get your opinion, as i was watching some videos, I noticed that the cars with beadlock rims have the most proplums, be it a pro mod, or a pro stock, and of corse the fuel cars, seams to me that all have the same problum at mthe same or close to the same place on the track, that being around 900 to 1000 ft.the pro mods, and pro stock, i'm gessing that the tire growes and the beadlocks make them grow into a tent shape and making the part thats on the track to become narower and they lose traction, the top fuel cars have the same problum but they have tremndus down force, and the tire in my opinion is being pushed so hard into the track that the tent efect is making the center of the tire not make contact with the track, and there by creating a lot of heat to the outside of the tire and it cant take the heat so the tire starts to chunk and come apart. P/S think about this, the back of the tire is todaly distored, what makes eveyone think that the bottom of the tire isn't doing the same thing? we just cant see it with the naked eye. another reason i think this is that the topalky cars have no problum, because they run liners and the tire growes by the side walls coming in off the end of the rim and they grow with more of a footprint than the beadlocks. Why else would the fuel cars start to spinn the tires on the top end if they had the same foot print goin all the way down the track? so what do you guys think??? Geno I wonder at 62 if I could go back to school and learn how to spell??

I read that artical, and acording to the engineir it's the crew cheif's that are agenst the tire being changed? If thats true why would goodyear settle with darrel 's wife if they aren't to blame? I still think it's the rims, there to wide and won't let the tire grow so theres enough foot print to get rid of the heat.

SOME OF THE TIRE ISSUES STARTED IN THE MID 90s , WHEN CERTAIN P.M. TEAMS BOUGHT ALL,ALL,THE TIRES AVAILABLE BY THE SEMI LOAD JUST SO NO OTHER TEAM WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THEM TO RUN ON THEIR CAR OR HAVE NEW TIRES TO BE COMPETITIVE..

This is what I would do if I was still racing and had the funding that the big boys have, I would get a 4 in thick piece of bullet proof glass make a frame that would stand 10.000 lb's of force, get a elect. motor that would spin a top fuel tire and rim at the speed it goes thru the lights at, put 6.000 lb's of force by hydraulic force on the tire and put cameras under the glass to see exacly what the tire is doing at the top end. update Brain Fart, I tought about this some more and realized that the glass would have to be in a large cercal and the tire would have to go around the cercal other wize it wouldent be the same as the tire on a track, so there would have to be many camaras around the cercal.
