InstiGator Heads West For Success

Elkhart, Ind. - 'Go west young man' was the title of an 1851, Terre Haute (Ind.) Express editorial written by John Soule. The title became the mantra for nineteenth Century American migration. For Terry McMillen and his Amalie Oil InstiGator Funny Car team, powered by TORCO Race Fuels, it has become an annual mantra for the team's migration to Edmonton, Alb. Canada for the CARS RV & Marine & Motorsports Rocky Mountain Nationals, presented by Torco Race Fuels.

"Edmonton has always been a great track for us," said McMillen. "It's a great track, from the racing surface to the hospitality of Kim and Rob Reeves (track owners), we love making the trip."

While track conditions and hospitality may play a role in McMillen's outlook, the success that he has experienced in western Canada can't be discarded. McMillen has posted a quarter-final, semi-final and final round appearance in the past three seasons. "This race always seems to play a major roll in our season," said McMillen. "We're expecting a big race for our team."

McMillen begins race week early with an early morning appearances schedule for the Amalie hot rod. McMillen will be on CFBR radio Tuesday with the popular Todd James show. Wednesday, McMillen will be the in-studio guest of CKEM TV. Global Edmonton's morning TV show will have McMillen in studio as a guest. He will also appear on Friday's CityTV's Breakfast Television from the track.

The Amalie InstiGator team is also proud of their partnerships with Edmonton area companies. No Limit Custom Coach joined the team this season. "From our Renegade coach and trailer, to the 2-seat dragster that we use for promotion, they have been a class act to work with."
