    Brainerd Preview

Brainerd, MN - Team YNOT hauler driver Don Pulliam is getting to see his fair share of these United States this last two weeks. He left from Norm Grimes’s shop in Southern California, went deep in the heart of Texas and now is pulling into the Brainerd International Raceway, in North Central Minnesota. The team will compete at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division Five Event. This is another new venue for Jim Whiteley and most of the YNOT Team. Crew Chief Norm Grimes and Consultant Allan Russell have been to Brainerd in the past with some success with multi-time World Champion Rick Santos.

Last weekend in Rusk, Texas the team scored a very solid semi-final round finish at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event. The win moved Whiteley up to fourth in Division Seven Points and into the top 20 in National Points. The team is looking for another solid run this weekend. This will help the team keep up the momentum which began with the win in Fontana - hoping to carry it over to next weekend’s O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Summer Nationals held at Heartland Park, Topeka, Kansas.

This weekend’s action starts on Friday, May 25th when gates open at 8:00 am. Qualifying begins at 9:00 am and the Alcohol Cars go off at 4:30 pm. Saturday gates are at 8:00 am qualifying starts at 9:00 am, with the alcohol cars getting two sessions at approximately 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm. Sunday’s final round of eliminations starts at 9:00 am and the alcohol finals begin at high noon.

Team YNOT as always would like to thank, Tom at Permatex, Erik at NGK Spark Plugs, John and his crew at Valspar/House of Kolor, Lake Speed Jr. at Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, and everybody at J and A Services and Raptor Industries for their continued support.
