Indianapolis, IN (September 6, 2010) – With all of the excitement surrounding the 56th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, Team Patron and driver Alexis De Joria were optimistic about their chances to find the winner’s circle at the NHRA’s biggest race of the season. After qualifying 4th with a 5.57 et @ 259 mph, De Joria and the Patron Team rolled into the first round eliminations against California native John Lombardo who qualified lucky # 13. De Joria had a great reaction time and was driving away from Lombardo when an air line that controls the transmission in her Patron Mustang broke and did not allow her to shift into second gear ending their holiday weekend in Indy.

A disappointed De Joria believes the Patron team is destine for the winner’s circle again soon. “Our Patron Mustang ran really well in qualifying and we had it set up to run another 5.57 since the weather and track conditions were similar to our final qualifying run” said De Joria. “The car left good and our early numbers showed we were on another 50-something run but when I hit the button for second gear nothing happened. When it didn’t respond, I hit 3rd gear and tried to catch John but we ran out of racetrack. We really wanted to do well at Indy. My Dad was at the race and always helps raise the momentum of me and our entire Patron team so we really hoped to finish the weekend off in the winner’s circle. The fans at Indy always amaze me, it’s definitely the biggest race of the year and it is always fun meeting new fans that seem to make Indy their favorite race of the year”.

De Joria is excited to announce the upcoming launch of her new website www.alexisdejoria.com in the next few weeks.
