    TDN RACING BEGINS 2009 SEASON

Tim and Nancy Nemeth were looking forward to their first event of the year this past weekend at their home track, Mission Raceway for the BC Lord-co Nationals.

The local fan favorites, from Chilliwack, BC have been very busy over the winter getting the Camaro ready for the 2009 season. They made a few changes to the combination over the winter and are also busy working on their new Nitro Nostalgia Funny Car. They are hoping to debut it for their national open in July.

Heading into this past weekends event, the team focused on dialing in the new combination in the Alky flopper. "We are trying a few different things to make the car more consistent and quicker. It will take a solid and strong performance for us to compete against the likes of Clint Thompson and Brian Hough,” stated Nemeth. “With perfect weather at the sea level track we should be able to improve on our career bests.”

On Friday, Tim ran a solid 5.81 elapsed time at 246 mph to put him in the #4 spot in the field. In qualifying round two, the team improved to a 5.811 elapsed time at 248mph. For the final qualifying session, they got more aggressive on the starting line, but the car spun the tires a bit and the timers stopped at a 5.821 seconds at a speed of 248 mph.

If you could dial in a TAFC, the team would be looking pretty solid heading into eliminations.

Nemeth faced Clint Thompson in round one. In the round one match-up, Nemeth had a great 0.020 reaction time and looked to be on a strong run, when the car fell on its face and broke. He coasted down track and could only watch Thompson blow by.

"It started off great, but the valve train let go two seconds into the run, and that was all she wrote,” stated Tim after the run. “We will go back and look at the data and take the engine apart and get it ready for the next event".

Tim and Nancy would like to thank their sponsors TDN Constructors group, Demidoff Equipment, Barry Hamel Equipment, Corporate Electric, Pennzoil, Chicago Pneumatic and Jet Equipment Canada

Tim and Nancy would also like to thank the crew including veteran Top Alcohol owner/tuner Ken Sitko, Fred Voller, Marc Campbell, Greg Edinger, Pete Shuttleworth, Lance Nemeth and Annika Nemeth.
