Curious, what is typical these days for stroke and RPM limit for a competetive blown alcohol TAD? Just wondering so I can do some "what if" simulations. As always, any feedback online, or via PM, would be appreciated. Thanks.

    stroke

Most all TAD motors are 3.75 stroke. Most of them have a 4.4675 bore to make a 471 CID combo.

The average competitive blown TAD will go 10,300-10,500 without much drama. My guess is the top guys in the class that are on top of their combinations and valvetrain stability are pushing 10,800-11,000.

I don't think we are talking more than a few hundredths difference in turning it 10,400 and turning it 10,800.

If you are not on top of what it needs for valve train stability and fuel system needs, you are not gaining a whole lot by spinning it that hard.

From what I've seen is that you want to cross the finish line with the highest rpm you think your engine can take.

Thanks Will. Any feel for preferred brand of piston & rod these days in TAD, and how many runs they are getting out of the rods on average?...

A lot of guys run Cp or Diamond. Also very popular still are Ross JE. And even Arias are getting more use.
Rods GRP 20 runs, some guys say more I take them out around 20 and haven't had one come out the hard way. I also run more stroke. Same RPM

BME sounds to have a really nice forged rod that is supposed to have more fatigue resistance, which presumably would mean more life. Is there a reason it is not used in TAD? Weight? Cost?......
