I am interested to know what kind of 12 volt battery any of you guy's (or Gals ) are using on your top alcohol dragsters or funny cars to run the tach shift light and deployment system as I need to get a new one, the one I was using from MSD is no longer available. Thanks in advance, Rich Putz

    Richard,
Dave Leahy makes a really nice setup, very light and holds charge for quite some time.

Richard ….Leahy’s deal is sweet. Just installed one in the new car. Has direct plug in to power the safety box and another power strip for accessories. Comes with charger too. Has dual switches incase one of the packs fails, so you can switch that one off and still run on the other. I run the "full meal deal of Dave’s stuff so it was a plug and play. Fair price too. I can send or post a picture if you need to take a look.

I like the tool batterys myself, they will stand up to tire shake very well and are light and powerful, don't leak or outgas and also charge very quickly. I think we are just accustomed to using lead acid in vehicles so we use them in our race cars, if you step back and look at the demands on a battery in a race car, a tool battery is a much better choice.
