Hats off to Schmeeckle and gang as the kicked our a.. with an awesome 5.28 pass in round 2. They did this with almost no time to get ready after the first round when the Eakins deal happened. I was sure looking forward to going with the kitchen sink on that one but decided a .30 something would do. Ignition trouble in high ended that. Those guys deserve a lot of credit on this one. Good job!

Any word on how Randy is doing? He hit the beach at a pretty good clip.

Eakins was checked out released by NHRA emergency services officials...the front of the dragster was damaged.

I just talked to Bob. Randy says his back hurts and he had one hell of a headache, but okay other than that. The car is thrashed.

Glad to hear that he's on his way home. And the front end was pretty much a swing set after the incident. Front end was bent back and almost in the driver's compartment!
