By what means are super mags controlled? Regarding multiple retard, and advance curves?
Thank you in advance of all response to this question, I'm at a point of ignition acquistion and have not run a magneto since the 60s& 70s.

The Super Mags are a points style magneto and there are no electronic advance/retard controls for them. They are very reliable, but there aren't the bells and whistles available for them like the Pro Mags. Depending on the type of hardware you are running, the Super Mag delivers fantastic spark for the dollar. If you really need to change the timing down the track at various points, you'll have to pony up the bucks for an MSD Pro Mag.

I have seen CO2 powered timing retard setups for the Super Mags floating around out there, but they are rare. I think they were made by SAE? The old obsolete electronic Super Mags did have rev limiters built in and that was about it.
