so how strong are these axles, i have what i think is a 9" eyeballing the dia of the ring gear with the lid off
4.30 ratio and came on a 5 40 something funnycar i have a 11" mw on a pro mod that looks a monster so when i took the top of this axle i was shocked, it looked like a pass car gear ;)
anyone know the strengths or weaknesses of this axle gear life, potential problems etc

    thanks for looking

    brake mi axel

keep in mind, the strange toploader was originally built with a 9 inch gear. it can be clearanced for 9.5 inch gears. the new ones are already clearanced. top fuel cars ran in the 4s with 35 spline axles and fabbed rears. most tafc have these in them, and ive seen the strange sportsman rears in tafc and take the abuse. what was in manzos car? the strange sticker on the side said it all! the pro mod is very abusive to tire shake, that will tell the difference. there are drivers that never lift, and some that don't. after seeing a friend of mines fabbed rear brake the spindles off the rear twice, and rip the 4 link mounts out, im thinking a good rear end is a wise choice.

the car in question is an ex manzo car so i dont doubt its integrity i was shocked to see it though, i noticed the gears have so many more bolts than normal too,
so how long do these gears last do you change at regular intervals i plain have no experience of this rear end

    thanks for your reply

We put easily a 100 plus runs on ours. After 50 drain the fluid check in on it. refill and run.

What is more important than the Brand of Gear is the Set-Up! I have had Motive Gears that lasted 2-runs (a few times!) yes...same guy.....go to a different Shop (that he said don't know what they are doing) and get 2-SEASONS on the same Brand of GEAR!!! All with RedLine Lube

U.s. gear or toms. With torco 90w140 synthetic or Joe Gibbs driven. I set ours up.
