SSI snout seal R&R??

Have a SSI 14/71 with a leaking blower snout.

Took off the snout, removed the snap ring on the shaft.
In my press, it's taking more pressure than I like, it popped once then, I stopped.

Is there a trick to getting the shaft out or, am I doing something wrong?

Also I think the seal PN is G-2062 which is a good Timken PN
