Sprag direction

I striped the lenco, but did not pay attention on direction of the sprag
do i refit it so i can turn the centre clockwise, or so it locks up clockwise?
This is looking to the front of the reverser to the rear
i was sure that it was in the locked position when bolted to the reverser and try turning clockwise

It needs to turn freely in the same direction as the motor (clockwise, looking from front to back).

If you're holding the outer race in your hand, the inner should turn clockwise-engine direction and will not allow it to turn counter clockwise.
When in forward gear and the pod activated you can't turn the motor counter clockwise with the turning bar

 

And if you should install it backwards, you will know the moment you pull your foot off the clutch pedal!
