Massey looking to rebound in Shreveport

<img border="0" src="http://insidetopalcohol.com/massey.jpg" width="360" height="270" align="left">GILLIAM, La. - Rookie NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Spencer Massey and team owner Gene Snow are hoping to get back on track during this weekend's NHRA Division 4 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Red River Raceway just outside of Shreveport, La. Following a disappointing outing in Topeka, Kan., the team hopes data collected in testing will get them back to the form that put them in back to back finals to start the year.

Massey, 23, of Ft. Worth, Texas, is eager to get back to winning form.

"Hopefully we've gotten rid of our tireshake problems," said Massey. "We tested last Friday at the Texas Motorplex, and made a couple of good 330' shots with good numbers and no tireshake. We're going to try to make a couple of squirts in testing on Thursday in Shreveport to make sure everything is good to go."

"At my first couple of races, I just hoped to make a decent showing," Massey continued. "After making the finals at those first two races, it's really got me hungry to get into the winner's circle. Hopefully we can make that happen in Shreveport."

Snow, who won this event last year as a driver, hopes to repeat that feat with his new driver Massey.

"We've had some good luck at Shreveport," stated Snow. "We won the race last year, and we have high expectations for this year. We seem to have the car back on track, so if all goes well, we can do it again."

Qualifying begins on Friday for the alcohol cars with two more sessions on Saturday. Final eliminations conclude the event on Sunday.
