Speedworld Closed?!?! Heritage Races lose another 1?

Looks like Speedworld didn't get the county or state to work with them. http://speedworlddragstrip.com/site/

Ok, now what about the Heritage race? Group 1 only had 4 races anyway and if Speedworld is out.....now what? Is Group 1 even running a points series and a championship this year? Tough to do with 3 or even 4 races.

 

By the beginning of the summer we valley of the sun drag racers and fans will have lost both our tracks as Firebird is closing at the end of March. AZ racers will only have Tucson left, or make the trek to Vegas ( which isnt so bad ) to race.

 

The Heritage Series will go on, we will just make some adjustments and try to get 4-5 events. It's tough to get tracks to run these events when tracks/series (other than Famoso) don't get the support of the racers.

 

Lack of support of racers? What does it cost the track for the privilege to hold this series race? Is it as much as the divisional races?
