The big news floating around is reportedly they are drastically restricting the fuel pumps for the Top Fuel categories next year, and will announce it around June 1. Reportedly the pumps will be in the 50-60 gallon range.

It's anybody's guess what this will do to performance, but as I've stated before, what does that mean for the alcohol categories?

Will they allow 5.20/280 mph TAD's if Top Fuel is 4.8s at 300 in good air?

Or does TAD need to brace for another hit?

I have been told by a senior NHRA official they namely don't want 4 second/290 mph TAD runs, but if and when the middle of the pack Top Fuelers are running those numbers...

Maybe they will be faster and it won't be a threat.

TF may have enough gap, but what about Fuel FC? What if their good runs are 5.0s?

If you have a TAD team it's worth keeping an eye on.

Of course none of this is official, but I'm just concerned.

Didn't we address this concern last year?

The performance gap issue was an HD partners deal right?

    concern

I just don't see them letting A/F and BAD's be within a tenth of a middle of the pack TF car or FC.

All I'm saying is it's something to keep an eye on. If it ever becomes official, we need to get an official ruling on NHRA's intent for the TA cars.
