    Everyone,

We run a 468 bbc aluminum head with the small od style (5/8) plugs not the big ones.

aggressive cam, 671 littlefield standard rotors, bme aluminum rods, so on and so forth.

We are using NGK V-Power R5673-9 #3442 plugs, 34 to 38 on timing.

    It is an alky motor.

    now for the question,

Is there a better plug to use? Just wondering before I start to buy for next season?

    Thanks,
    Bob

The only thing that I know of that "might" be better is a R5674 which is the projected version of your suggestion (assuming it clears everything in the chamber). It does on our Dart heads.

Some will claim its more of a "glow" plug, but I have not experienced it to be in what I tried.

I have no dyno data to back this.

Also some will say to run a -10, I can't argue this although I run 9s for no good reason other than thats what we got started with.

As I understand it the colder plugs are only colder on the electrode, not the ground strap. Any time I've leaned too much its the ground strap that melts off, which leads me to wonder if the temp range has much to do with me and my BBC blown alky engines.
