Sonoma, California - 5.32 seconds and 268 miles per hour career best marks for Grand Junction, Colorado’s Jim Whiteley. Whiteley ran that time and speed during the first qualifying session on Friday during the CAL-STEAM/KOHLER NHRA Division 7 Drag Races. Whiteley was able to back up his best ever run by running another 5.30 with a solid 5.36 second run at 266 miles per hour miles per hour in the final qualifying session on Saturday.

After qualifying filtered out, Whiteley ended up second to the junior fueler of Morgan Lucas who ran the only “twenty” in qualifying with a 5.29, to take the pole position. Whiteley will face the crafty veteran, Mark Niver in round one competition.

The Altered Twin Team of Annie Whiteley and Anita Pullium ran hard in all their qualifying sessions, but were just a bit shy in the performance, and just did miss making the very tough Top Dragster field.

Eliminations for the Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars begin at 12:00 noon on Sunday

Team YNOT would like to thank Permatex, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil, Valspar/House of Kolor, J&A Service, Raptor Industries, Advanced Oil Field Services and Impact Race Products for their continued support.
