Something better than HANS ?

    When I was watching the top fuel racers this weekend, I saw that none of them were wearing a HANS device. Does anyone know why they have fallen out of favor in that class? What about in top alcohol?

    Didn't see the Footage to which you speak of, but a lot of racers run the R-3 restraint.

    Just because the Hans was the first true head, and neck restraint doesn't mean it's the best. I've seen a few people who had a Hans had trouble getting out of a dragster, or F/C beacuse of the top portion of the Hans tends to get hung up on the front roll cage hoop when trying to get out of the car. Not good if your trying to get out of a car that's on fire.

    I like my Hans but kenneth is sooooo rite it sucks getting out..thank god it a rear motor i might not get burnt up..Dave
