Small Piston Skirts

I have 2 pistons that are small at the skirt, one .003 the other .005 Can these be run? Jp1 block, venolia pistons, these were brand new 300ft ago .012 piston to wall clearence.

 

Piston skirt collapsed

We have collapsed some skirts when we got the tune wrong or some sort of cockup. Pulled the pin locks out, made up a fixture and pressed them back the other way. You have to press them a long way past the right measurment as they spring back a long way. We did it with the gudgeon(wrist) pin in place to help keep everything in place. The pins werent tight afterwards so I didnt worry about honing the pin bores. Worked for us
