What Slow Motion Cameras would you recommend?

Can the same video be watched in real life speed also?

It isn't the cheapest thing, but I use the Sony HDW-F900R and it's great. If you look around online, you can find some good deals on them; I've seen up to 10-15% off.

Yes used for $70 is a good deal, a year ago there weren't any used so we had to pay new (around $90k). This will not mount on the car for obvious reasons but does beautiful work from the starting line. The zoom is top-notch and you can zoom the entire length of the track and still have A+ picture quality. I reccomend the following tripod with this camera.

Casio EX FH100, I just bought one as I was told the EX F1 was out of production. It has almost the same specs, half the price and half the size.

Almost all of our runs are at night. Do these $250-$1000 units work in limited light or where there are bright track lights making funny shadows and bright spots?

we use a Casio Exilim EX-FH25, its small, works fine in both night and day and i think from memory it was around $500 one of the best things we have bought in a long time you will learn lots from watching the first 20 feet in slow motion

Yes it did take a month or two of saving the $$ to make this purchase possible but like the previous comment; the data you'll gather (higher the quality of picture the better the data) is priceless. If you call and talk to the company (website within hyperlink) you can get somewhat of a deal, for tripod and cam it was $100k even (free shipping too).

    Mr Keller

What camera was that? If I had a spare 70K laying around I would hire a cameraman with his own camera but until that damn money tree starts dropping money all over the backyard I will find a cheaper but adequate camera. Your video looks fine. Thanks for sharing it with us. Dave Germain

Stable Imaging makes some very nice cameras. We use them on our TAD and you can mount them anywhere. They are used by several of the pro teams and can also sync to Racepak. You can really make any vid slo-mo with a good vid editing software. Imovie and even WMP (Windows Media Player) do a good job. Find something that will shoot in 1080P and you'll be golden. I'll post some vids from my car later, quality is great.

    Thanks,
