    hi all
i ve had this solid block, standard deck hemi KB engine for some time now that i bought used.
now has come the time to put it in my car and when we removed the heads and slowly cranked it,some sleeves moved up and down with the pistons.we could push them back in place by hand:should i worry?
    thank you for input

Be sure you have adequate sleeve protrusion to lock them in, will need to make some holders to keep them in place when honing.

thanks a lot for your answer!
vertical locking of sleeves in block is fine,as i have O rings on sleeves protruding on top of sleeve/block deck.
i thought sleeves could only be removed with a slide hammer so if mines move so easily, there must be a clearance/gap problem between the sleeves and the block bores, that might get even worse when the block is hot.
    thanks for educating me!

you might have the wrong sleeves in the block, solid block sleeves have a bigger O.D than waterblock sleeves.

I would get the blocked checked!!! That doesn’t sound good it might be a slap together motor, and a lot of damage could happen.

ok,so next thing i'll be doing is a complete teardown of the short block, then check the block bores inner and sleeves outer diameters.
is there a big difference in diameter between wet and dry sleeves?
    thanks again for advice!
