Just wondering if anyone has had any luck in getting a suit "re certified". ( from Simpson) The board has been silent on this issue for a while / has anything changed? If not, where are people buying new ones at? Tis the season to Re Certify and be Jolly! Happy Holidays! Brownman and the FNGs

I got mine last year from Taylor Motorsports, they sell suits for Phoenix Custom Apparel. Really awesome suit, very comfotable, plus Dennis and the gang over there are awesome to deal with.

Spoke to Steve Johnson (at Simpson) yesterday. He is one of the two people that can re certify your suits. HE said that the newer version ( Materials) suits have a date on the SFI Patch / 2001 and newer. If your suit has that, then unless it is abused or torn, it should be able to pass a re cert. It has something to do with the density of the layers and air mass. ( Yes.....also economics!) We have sent ours off with it being a five year old suit with the 2001 SFI Patch and will let you know the results. Moma said....it never hurts to ask! Happy New Years!! Brownman and the FNG's

    Simpson Does Re-cert!!

Just got a call from Simpson Saftey and they have passed our Drivers suit and certified it for the next five years. They simply requested that they be allowed to get it dry cleaned prior to working on it. Contrary to recent accounts they will certify any suits that meet the SFI ratings. All suits should be directed to Attention of Steve Johnson. Thnaks.........Brownman and the FNG's
