SIMONTON AND KON RODZ TEAM READY FOR 2010 FINALE

<img src="http://www.insidetopalcohol.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=206&thumb=1&d=1268444216" align="right" borders="0"/>Concord, NC. – Rookie NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car pilot Cassie Simonton and Spiro Kontos’ Kon Rodz Racing team are ready to hit the ground running and improve off their recently recorded career-best elapsed time this weekend at Z-Max Dragway in Charlotte, NC for the final time in 2010 for the Barrie, Ont. Canada based team.

After what can be best described as a ‘learning experience’ season for the 24-year old Alcohol Funny Car driver from Johnstown, Ohio, Kontos, the owner of Recyco Environmental Inc. and Direct Waste Systems Inc. is planning to end the 2010 NHRA Full Throttle National Event series on a positive note.

“We have definitely learned a lot this season about not only our car and the tune-up, but our outstanding driver Cassie,” noted Kontos. “From the time she stepped into the seat of our funny car in testing, till last weekend at the US Nationals where she drove our car to a great 5.693 second ET, Cassie has improved every time she has stepped on the throttle. The team has also done a wonderful job and worked very hard this season. Ending our season early in Charlotte is difficult, but we are going to do the best we can to put on a great show for our fans and try to capture a round win or two. I think we are inching up on becoming competitive in this class and I look forward to a great weekend of racing.”

The Kon Rodz team will be receiving additional support this weekend from Dino’s Pizza and Pasta, (http://www.dinospizzapasta.com) conveniently located in Cabarrus County, in front of Lowe's Grocery Store on Main Street (Hwy 49) in Harrisburg, NC. Only minutes away from Concord and the Lowe's Motor Speedway, Dino’s offers race teams and fans looking for high quality food at affordable prices the taste of Italy. With their dine-in or take out service, Dino’s is the place to eat during the race weekend.

“I am so happy to have Dino’s Pizza and Pasta supporting our team this weekend,” Kontos said. “They truly know how to take care of their customers and offer racers and spectators a great and affordable dining experience close to the track. In today’s economy it is an honor when anybody steps up to help out a race team during the season. I can’t thank them enough for their support. I know we represent them well on and off the track.”

The Kon Rodz team will receive three attempts to qualify for the 16-car field before final eliminations begin on Saturday evening. To learn more about the Kon Rodz team, please visit their website at http://www.konrodzracing.com and their team page at http://www.crxmedia.com.
