When crossing the finish line do most go to nutral or leave it in gear? My crank shit an aluminum rod off at about 7500 rpm, crossing the finish line, lifting and leaving it in gear. Curious about what most do and in what order.
    Thanks,
    Ken

I pull the chute, go to neutral, and let it idle until the turn off. I would rather slow down with the chute & the brake vs more wear & tear on the valve train, etc...

With a clutch, i would pull the fuel after the chute opens, but i prefer to let the trans circulate fluid thru the converter to cool it off.

    Hope that helps.

    What transmission are you running?

I have spragueless lencodrive so I dont like to pull the fuel untill the car is stoped so i'm not spinning a dry blower.

I am using a powerglide but considering going with a Lencodrive, not to sure what I will do next year. Right now have my hands full replacing the engine, repairing the heads, etc.

Hey Blown 375 or anyone else,

Speaking of spinning a dry blower,

Do any of you guys route your high speed bypass back to the distribution block for the hat nozzles to cool the blower when you shut the throttle at the end of the run?

    Pump saver

We run the pump saver back to the hat distribution block for a bit more cool/lube in the blower past the finish line.
    Cheers

Hi Richard ,no personally I don't run it like that but I know guys that do.
But this is like anything else in racing ...people have different opinions on things, some swear buy it and others don't like it .
I have heard that this is the hot setup;) and I have had others say you run the risk of hydraulicking the engine and it aids in oil dilution:( so the choice is up to you.:)

P.S. technically it wouldn't be your high speed I think it would be called your pump saver someone correct me if I'm wrong, if you tied it your high speed to your hat block, you wouldn't by pass anything
