A number of years ago we ran a supermag III, autometer tach and an off the shelf autometer shift light. Been so long I can't remember the specifics of the wiring but I'm sure we just followed the directions that came with it and never had a problem.

Don, I have the same setup as you. The 9118 is the signal converter and that should be all that you need if you have the Tach w/ external shift lite plug and signal lite. You can download a pdf file from the Autometer web site for the wiring detail, publication 2650-753x-10 Rev. B. Just one note that I'll mention, it drove me crazy for several events!!! The mag would not pick up a signal and operate the tach as per their (autometer ) wireing diagram. I just walked down and went through my files, they had the BROWN/YELLOW wire designated Mallory, picking the signal from the mag, via the + side of the mag kill switch. If you run into this problem use the MSD Pro Mag wire (BROWN/ORANGE) . This was determined in the pits after total frustration while the car was fired & running, I just started pulling and stripping wires, when I stipped the ORANGE wire I got hit with the total Mag voltage signal!!! It didn't feel very good but it solved the signal pick up problem. After this switch the Tach worked great. I informed Autometer Tech department about this problem, it was around July/Aug of last year. It was either a printing error or China manufacturing error in the 9118. MSD also makes a signal converter. Spud can suppy either one.

ETC makes RPM switches either stand alone or in various configurations plus rev limiters and 2 steps for the Supermags. Nice thing is you can stack as many on top of each other as you want.
