Richmond VA - Duane Shields in the Muscle Milk A/Fuel Dragster went back to racing in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series after a stretch of NHRA national events. Duane qualified fifth at the Virginia Motorsports Park regional event with a strong 5.25 at 277 MPH.

In round one, Duane raced Dan Mercier who qualified 4th. As the lights came down, Mercier was out first with a .066 to Duane's .088. Mercier then lost traction and Duane sailed to the finish line with a 5.27 at 276 MPH win.

In the semi-final round, Duane raced Jackie Fricke. Jackie got off the line first with a .071 to Duane's .122. It was a very close side-by-side race all the way to the stripe with Fricke taking the win with a 5.20 at 278 MPH to Duane's close 5.22 at 277 MPH.

Next, the team heads to Dallas for the NHRA Fall Nationals, October 7-10 where Madison Payne will be driving the Muscle Milk entry. Duane would like to thank his sponsors Muscle Milk, NGK Spark Plugs, GRP Connecting Rods, Clean Boost, SRI, and Brad Anderson Enterprises for their support of Shield's Racing in 2021.
