    Hi Guys,
I always just wing it when I do the first startup on a new engine (setting up mag for the first time).
I was told that there is a tool that you slip over the rotor with a socket style hole in it that you use an inch pound wench on and set it to something like 22 inch pounds (or something like that). Where do I find this tool?
There has to be something out there, you never see the pros adjusting the mag on a fresh rebuild. They might check the timing but very seldom adjust the mag.
    Thanks

Most pros run something like grid where you set timing thru computer and use crank trigger. the mag just has to be set to a base and real timing is thru trigger and controller be it grid or other.

with triggert sit mag fairly close to actual timing. We ran mag at 58 and our trigger max was 65 on A fuel as example. Then with grid set as want and check on car with light.

w/O TRIGGER bring up to desired timing set mag at number one as close as possible. fire up car check withlight and adjust accordingly.

Yes they do had a piece to do it like stated and if swapping motros half dozen times like fuel team it helpful. IMO the old fashon way pretty easy too.
