Set back blower for alcohol cars?

    Any news on the alcohol set back blower that I have heard Brad Anderson is developing?

    Anyone planning on getting one for next year?

    If past history in any indicator, the NHRA will ban it from TAD/TAFC.

    Can't see it being any advantage in TAD or TAFC. No roots blower is going to free up the horsepower like a screw blower does

    in theory if you could put the opening of any blower over the center of the intake, it will make more hp. the problem with the screw blower and that scenario is the air exits in the rear opposed the front like the roots. so you could easily (relatively) move the blower back to achieve this. to do that with a screw blower, you would have to drastically move the blower forward. this is the problem. you cant move the bottom pulley forward. from there you have a serious engineering problem. not only would you have to develop some sort of multi-belt system, but support the weight of the front of the blower as well.

    before people start thinking something like this would be the cure-all for the blown cars, there 'are' solutions out there to the problem.
