Seat Belt Mountings

I need help--can't get diddly out of NHRA. Are TADs going to 7 point belts? What about crotch strap mounting---ours wraps around the front seat lip tube which is 1 1/2 inches ahead of where my jewels are. I heard that it has to be rearward. How is that accomplished? Put an additional bar in behind your jewels and cut a slot in the seat to pass the crotch strap through? My seat is sooo tight, I can't move when strapped in---literally. Need to know now so we can modify the car if need be before cert/2008 season.

I was told that NHRA was going to actually enforce the crotch strap mounting pictures that are in the rule book. I haven't heard anything at all about a 7 point system. Danny Gracia told me to consider a U shaped tube welded to the front seat support so the crotch strap mounts somewhat behind the drivers crotch.

 

Latest word is no seven point belts---YET. We do have to move the crotch strap mounting point back of the chest line,(get strapped in the seat, put a steel rule down your front, point of mounting should be 2" behind this point on the seat. or put a vertical up against your stuff and the point should be behind that to feed it through the seat. "They", are not sure if there will be a clarification of this later. Most likely it will come at your first race, when they won't cert your car as legal, and all the big boys will be allowed to race and you and I get to sit in the bleachers for the weekend and watch. Nobody will stand up and say "This is ok and this isn't" (NHRA Tech)! Not yet anyway. 12-13-07. I think I'm going to take up tiddly-winks; 30 years of this crap has me so angry, my hair is falling out in clumps,(for real.)

 

this might sound dumb....but how do you put another bar in were they say to put it. my seat is in an angle which in the area they say to put it is lower than the bottom of my lower fram rail...the very bottom of my seat is at the very bottom of the frame rail.....p.s. my hair is also falling out
