Shayne Lawson kicks off three-year ride with Tigerflow Systems at No Problem Raceway

    BROKEN ARROW, OKLA – February 28, 2008
It has been easy for top alcohol funny car driver Shayne Lawson to get excited about the 2008 NHRA season.

He is on the front end of a three-year deal with primary sponsor Tigerflow Systems, he has a season of experience in his funny car and he’s been waiting to get back on the track since the last fall’s rainout at Thunder Valley Raceway.

“We were ready to go before the rain out (in Belle Rose) and it just made the last few weeks seem even longer,” Lawson said. “Now everyone on the team has winter fever and we’re ready to rock and roll.”

Lawson counts last year, his first driving the alcohol funny car owned by Brad McWilliams, as a learning experience. This year, his goals are set higher.

“What we really want is to be competitive at every race,” he said. “I’d like to finish in the top 5 in the division and we want to come home with at least one Wally.”

The season kicks off for Lawson in Belle Rose, La., where he will compete in the first Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division-4 event of 2008. This is his first full season competing in the division and first full season with the backing of his primary sponsor.

“We partnered up with Shayne on a limited basis last year and were really impressed with the integrity and honesty of Shayne and his father, Kelly,” said Monroe Guest, vice president and chief financial office of Tigerflow Systems. “They are terrific representatives for our brand.”

Racing begins on Friday, Feb. 29 at No Problem Raceway and continues through Sunday.
