    Extra Incentive for Northwest Contest

ANAHEIM, CA — Coming off his third victory of the year just two weeks ago, Sean “Gone” Bellemeur is anxious to get back to work this weekend as his team joins the fray at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Washington. Now in the middle of what can be described as a successful season, the Meer Homes Funny Car has been in the final round of every event it’s qualified for in 2007. Thus far, all three wins have come on the Divisional level, while Sean has scored runner-up finishes at two national events. Naturally, he hopes that’ll change soon.

Crew chief, Bob DeVour said, “We have even more incentive to succeed from here on out. Jim Henn, a close friend of mine (and the team’s) died in an auto accident less than two weeks ago, and I’m dedicating the rest of our season to him. He was the supervisor of cylinder head development at TRD and helped us a great deal on this car. Jim loved solving electrical problems, his attention to detail was amazing, and he was great at analyzing anything technical. We’ll miss him a great deal, but Jim’s memory will always inspire us to race hard.”

As Bellemeur looked towards this weekend’s Schuck’s Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, he mentioned, “Bob DeVour and Ron Meer have given me a great car and we’ve also had some good luck. This is a beautiful track and I look forward to seeing just what it’ll give us. The pre-entry list is filled with lots of good drivers that I’ve never had the chance to line up against, so I look forward to the competition. The way things have been going, I wish I could drive this thing every day.” Car owner Ron Meer added, “We’ve managed to run our car with very little breakage this year and that’s thanks to careful preparation and reasonable tune-ups. Bob and I work well together and we have a great crew. Our goal is to give Sean a good car that’s also safe. We’re ready to race this weekend.”

Ron Meer Motorsports sends special thanks to Randy Anderson, Chase Knight at Crane Cams, Gary and David Sumek of Lenco, Steve and John at Medlen Motorsports, and Mike Gruber from Valvoline.
