I had my PSI machined on top so there is not a groove for an 0-ring. Taylor doesn't make a restraint plate with an o-ring groove. Can I just seal it with silicone? I have thought about having PSI machine a groove in it for me.

Just use some permatex "The Right Stuff" on the faces. Just a lite film, that stuff is wicked. Once it sets you can almost take the bolts out and run it. It should work fine.

Use HYLOMAR , it's sold by Permatex. It is not cheap, but can be found on a Permatex silicone rack in some places.
Most people won't buy it because they don't know what it is. It is the small tube size for $4.95, while all the different color silicones are $ .99, so a lot of places quit stocking it.
In the early 1900's we were having sealing problems on the Donovan between the blower/manifold which of course lost boost. An aircraft guy loaned us some (at the time it could only be had for Rolls-Royce engine rebuilding), we had doubts and didn't richen it up.......burned all 8 !!
Use it on your diff center to housing also.

Hylomar does not creep like silicone. It is the best.
