    Hi,
What year did screw blowers become common in the TAFC class?

    Who ran them first?

    Thanks

I believe they went on sale in 1988, and that Mark Niver's car was the first down the track with a PSI.

There was quite a buzz when they first started running, and people realised that the harder you spun the PSI.. the harder it ran.. so I would say they were fairly common '89.

However, the first version had cast rotors, and people kept upping the overdrive.
Pretty soon a couple failed catastrophically when drivetrain components failed, and there was a moratorium placed on their use until Norm developed billet rotors.
