Scott Kalitta

All of us in the state of Michigan truly pray for the entire Kalitta family. Just wondering what happened. Why was the wall at the end of the track? Also, It did not seem like the brakes were used, or maybe they were disabled. Are there any possible modifications that can be made to ensure the parachutes or brakes function no matter what happens at the finish line?
