When did they make the 95% a rule?

 

I believe Kevin pulled the 95% out of his A#^ It is pure speculation at this point.

 

Oops...sorry Dale, my bad,I heard it from a little bird...BTW Dale, I run an A/Fuel car so why would I make it up? I think 95% will put us back in the high 40's.

In addition to the rule additions NHRA has already posted we should see the following announced after Pomona.

*95% for AFD
*Autoshift for BAD
*Electronic Ignition Control for TAD

Guess the 5.10/5.11 didn't help the cause eh?

It was cool to see Mitch do it...but lets remember he's one car....closest to him was a .24! I know NOT the answer to this parity deal but I feel it is wrong to chastise those who have figured out how to make their combos work! NHRA Give the BAD's the blower they want....you can bet the FANS don't want to see the class slow down...

95% will KILL the AFD cars (high 40's at best) so what then? The AFD's have no chance? Nitro must be compressed to work...Alcohol reacts very negative to being compressed.

Not a lot of difference from my calculations. NHRA doesn't need to change a thing. The racers are changing it for them. All the good teams have already switched or are in the process of switching to A/Fuel or TAFC.

So what does that mean? That the almost 2/3 of TAD cars that are BA/D aren't GOOD enough just because we maybe can't afford to switch to A/FD? Remember, this is a sportsman class, and many of us do this just because we love it even though we most likely will never have a shot at a national title.

If they did away with the blown cars, how many of those do you think would actually be able to start over? There are only about 120 active cars in the entire country, injected and blown inclusive, what would happen if a majority of the blown cars were parked? Talk about hurting the class as a whole.
