I see so many Alcohol Funny car Bodies out there that are not legal I can't
believe it. Does no one read the rule book including the tech people.
Adjustable saddles on Alcohol Funny car body's are not legal it says so in the 2008 rule book but there are chassis builders that install them and they pass tech. Firewalls aluminum or steel ONLY no mag no carbon fiber but I see that there are a few out there. Also in the RULE BOOK under Acohol Funny car it's in there. IT'S WHO YOU ARE and WHO built the car.

Jim.......you are absolutely right, it's who you are and who built the car. it has always been that way, and sadly always will. i went to a divisional race a few years back with a friend of mine (TAD). we went through tech, and there was a question about the blower belt guard on the car. it seems that the guard was not up to the officials standards, so he told us to fix it. it was identical to one of the RCD units that everyone has. i said hey, you know John Force doesn't even have a guard on his car.........why are you picking on us? he grinned, shrugged his shoulders and walked away. the rules DO NOT apply to everyone.

Correct me if I'm wrong(ADJ body saddles) I dont see that in the book. And you can have ADJ body saddles for the two in front of the motor.
Also Standard/CLEAR hardcoat my look like Mag.

I think what they were thinking on the adjustable body mount thing was a body mount that wasn't adjustable during a run. In other words no lowering or raising the body during a run to adjust the aerodynamics. Maybe that will help explain things? Dave Germain
